 RTAA and AusRAIL CONFERENCES

The RTAA is a co-partner on the organising committee of the AusRAIL Conferences and presents its own stream at AusRAIL. The RTAA holds its Annual General Meeting during AusRAIL each year. The Yellow Tie Dinner is an institution borrowed from the RTAA, who initiated the distribution of yellow ties to all its male guests at dinner in 2003. The RTAA has great pleasure in announcing the winner of the Frank Franklyn Award during the Gala Dinner at AusRAIL.

RTAA TECHNICAL PAPER STREAM AT AUSRAIL PLUS 2011

The RTAA presented its stream of technical papers on 22nd and 23rd November at AusRAIL PLUS 2011 in Brisbane. The RTAA Stream presented 3 technical papers on the subject of  Innovative Rail Projects under the chairmanship of David Bainbridge, RTAA President on the morning of 22nd November. The afternoon sessions was chaired by David Bull, RTAA Vice-President on the subject of Innovation in Track Laying/Mechanised Track Maintenance. On the following afternoon, Warwick Kinscher,(RTAA President  2008/2009) introduced the technical papers under the title Innovation in Track Materials and Rail Infrastructure Inspections.

RTAA TECHNICAL STREAM REVIEW PANEL

A sub-committee of the RTAA Management Committee forms a review panel headed by a chairperson whose role it is to select high quality, relevant and professional technical papers that comply to the RTAA standards for presentation at AusRAIL. These papers are track related and should also conform to the title of the conference. The papers are presented at the RTAA Stream over both days of the conference with 12 final papers being selected for presentation.
